After being launched on February 9th, it appears that Google has finally begun rolling out the Android Wear 2.0 update to users, though only three watches are receiving the update at this stage.
The announcement of the rollout comes via the Google Support Forums with Community Manager Ernest announcing the update is heading to the Fossil Q Founder, Casio Smart Outdoor Watch and Tag Heuer Connected. There’s no mention of other models at this stage, with the announcement reading simply:
Hi everyone!
The first watches that are getting Android Wear 2.0 via OTA update are the following watches:
- Fossil Q Founder
- Casio Smart Outdoor Watch
- Tag Heuer Connected
These watches are starting to get OTA today and should roll out to all users by 4th April.
Cheers!
Ernest on behalf of Android Wear team
Over on reddit, users are noting the rollout has begun to at least the Fossil Q Founder, though no users of the TAG Heuer Connected, or Casio Smart Outdoor Watch have yet checked in. The update for the Q Founder has shown up for multiple users with build # NXG46L.
There’s no further updates on availability, either for the LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition or Huawei Watch which were used to test the update. Polar has advised via Twitter that their rollout of Android Wear 2.0 will begin next week for the M600.
Yes received the update this morning.
