The Google Play store is getting an update which is rolling out to Android devices gradually, the update from 4.1.6 to 4.1.10 is specifically addressing a bug which was causing severe battery drain that was affecting HTC onwers.
Android Police had a look into the update and found that it downloads a Network Location Provider patch. There isn’t a terribly large amount of changes in the new Play Store update and appears to primarily be a bug fix release.
The update on the Google Product Forums addresses the fix which you can get in a number of ways, you can wait and have your device update or you can head over to Android Police where there is a full array of download links and mirrors.
