Two years ago, on the sixth of March Google undertook a re-branding of the Android Market, as it was then known to become Google Play – a store more focused on content from Google than a mere App store for their Android devices. To celebrate their 2nd Birthday, Google has launched limited time deals throughout each of their departments, offering on Apps, Movies, Music, Books and Music subscriptions.
Google has started offering a deal on Music, offering a discounted album for $4.99, every 24 hours beginning yesterday with Avicii – True which is still currently available at the discounted price and continuing today with Boy and Bear – Harlequin Dream for the same price. The deal lasts for 24 hours so keep checking the Google Play Birthday Music page for more updates.
But Movies are similarly on offer with Google offering a selection of movies for rent from $0.99 or sale from $3.50. There’s a massive selection, so head over to the Movie Sale page.
For the avid readers, a selection of Books have been discounted to under $5 for the birthday sale and a selection of magazine subscriptions are on offer for 30% off their normal price.
Finally a number of Games are offering deals for the 2nd birthday celebration, with Electronic Arts features heavily offering exclusive in-app deals and 50% off – the 50% off does not appear to be live just yet – the purchase price of a number of titles, they’ve also been joined by Chillingo who are offering 50% off on in-app purchases on Dead Ahead and Tiny City.
