Bluethumb gallery, an Australian based online service that aims to make great Australian art accessible to everyone, by letting artists sell their creations directly to the public has released their Android app.
Bluethumb Gallery has a lot of art, their database contains over 5,000 original artworks, from over 1,000 artists. All artwork on show in the app is available to purchase, with payment options including Credit Card or PayPal, with free delivery included.
When viewing the various works of art, a simple swipe to the left will allow you to view information about the artist or you can tap the heart button to save the artwork to your favourites list. You can also search by keyword to find that perfect piece of artwork.
The beautiful looking app has been designed specifically for devices running Android 4.0 and upwards. There’s a slide out navigation bar, which features options to list Art, Artists, Collections and recently sold artwork.
There’s been an iOS app for a while, and an Android App is long overdue. Bluethumb Director George Hartley said of the new Android App
The design adapts to various screen sizes, making it feel natural and familiar to users across different devices.
Bluethumb Gallery has released this walkthough video of their new app:
At 1.3MB it’s a pretty small app, but if you’re into art speculation then you probably should check out the Blue Thumb gallery app. It’s available now on Google Play.
Nice one! It’s great to see Australian arts more accessible to the public. Just wondering if you are able to save some of those arts as wallpaper for your phone?
