Android Device Manager has come along way since it’s initial release brought about a way to locate or erase your Android phone remotely, and today it’s getting another update.
The update which is rolling out slowly to handsets now, brings about an important update if you’re out and about and find your phone has been absconded with or you’ve left it behind somewhere. Android Police are reporting that the latest update to the service brings a guest mode to the app, which will allow you to borrow a friends handset and login to Android Device Manager with your own credentials and let you get the remote location, ring, lock, and even wipe your device.
The update will obviously roll out slowly over the next few days, but if you’re impatient, Android Police have posted the APK, with mirrors so you can download it now.
Have you ever had to use Android Device Manager to locate, ring, lock or wipe your Android device?
Jason. You can set up another phone number of its your partner and send it there or you can print backup codes and carry them with you.
I wonder if this will work in a convenient manner if you have 2 factor authentication enabled on your Google account.
If you login to a friends phone is it going to SMS the code to your lost phone ?
