British developer Team 17 has brought its high-definition remake of it 1993 platformer hit Superfrog HD to Google Play for Android, in what’s probably my news highlight of the day (and perhaps week).
If you grew up with an Amiga computer in the 90’s (like me), you’re probably familiar with Team 17 and their stable of hits (like Alien Breed and Worms) and have already jumped to the bottom of the post and clicked through to the Play store. The company is responsible for some of the most beloved games of some people’s childhood (and maybe not just their childhood).
Superfrog was Team 17’s answer to Mario, Sonic, James Pond and Zuul – it endowed a regular frog with super powers, and gave him a nemesis (like all good platformers) and let the action unfold over a number of worlds. It was beloved of a generation of gamers, and it’s back!
The 2014 update has redesigned (read: easier) levels with new HD graphics, with 24 levels across 6 worlds. The original levels are available to unlock if you’re after a challenge, and there’s also a new endless runner mode (a la Jetpack Joyride) thrown in to keep you entertained longer.

Do you remember the original Superfrog? What game(s) would you like to see Team 17 port next? Tell us in the comments
The question I have about this game is: Is it compatible with BT keyboard, mouse, and game controllers?
Lemmings on tablet with stylus control would be awesome. Complete with original pause zoom and scroll interface. Original levels + remakes would be sweet. Long live the Amiga! What a platform 🙂
Oh yeah. Who can ever forget this awesome game! Me and my brother loved this on my Amiga 500! Great news!
