Australian outsourcing marketplace Freelancer.com has announced the release of version 2.0 of their Android app.

The app allows both freelancers looking for work and employers looking for people to perform any tasks they need to without visiting the site. Freelancers can find and accept jobs and submit bids within the app, while hirers can manage projects (including posting new ones) and review bids and award jobs to successful bidders.

The company added Android Wear compatibility to their app a little while ago, detailed in this blog post. If you’ve got an Android Wear device, you can receive and respond to messages from your wrist without even using your phone.

Freelancer also runs a Beta Community, which saw a lot of activity in the lead-up to the release of the new update – it’s good to see a company taking an interest in satisfying the needs of their users.

If you’re looking for work or looking for staff, perhaps you should give Freelancer a go.

Before discovering the Nexus One, Jason thought he didn't need a smartphone. Now he can't bear to be without his Android phone. Jason hails from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane depending on his mood and how detailed a history you'd like. A web developer by day with an interest in consumer gadgets and electronics, he also enjoys reading comics and has a worryingly large collection of Transformers figures. He'd like to think he's a gamer, but his Wii has been in a box since he moved to Sydney, and his PlayStation Vita collection is quite lacking. Most mornings you'll find him tilting at various windmills on Twitter - follow @JM77 and say hi!
