After announcing their first Android Tablet, the N1 yesterday, Nokia has launched their Z launcher on to Google Play, however it is still in Beta mode for now.
The Launcher App, which is very simple to use and offers a very simplistic design that changes throughout the day, has made a few improvements since its beta testing program earlier in the year. Nokia has brought some new features which were highly demanded by beta testers in their Z Launcher Forums. These features include:
- Faster speed improvements and optimisations to reduce “finger tracking latency”
- Better Prediction improvements and enhancements
- Refined Scribble – a faster recognition and response time
- Ability to run on rooted devices
Looking at Google Play, it would seem Z Launcher isn’t quite available here just yet however it is showing up in searches, so Nokia might be looking to flick the switch to make it available here soon. In the mean time, if you’re curious to try it Z Launcher, you can download the APK file directly to your device here.
Nokia has stated that Z Launcher is able to run on any device that runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and upwards and the Z Launcher team have asked for users who do download Z Launcher, to sign up to the Z Launcher forums/feedback section and continue to provide feedback for future updates.
Thanks for providing the Dropbox link. There is an update to the app though. 1.0.2 – can’t d/l it though “invalid credentials”
Will search for the apk
