Sony has been promoting their Lifelog application with their Lifeband and Smartwatch lines for a while now. Like most health tracking application there’s been a bit of a kerfuffle over extracting your data out of the system once it’s in. Sony has essentially killed the arguments by introducing the Lifelog channel on If This Then That (IFTTT), a site which lets you customise recipes to automate your life.
The Sony Lifelog channel on IFTTT, lets you perform a range of functions, including backing up your sleep, calories and steps taken to a Google Drive spreadsheet on a daily basis. This effectively lets you keep an external record of your fitness activity which you could in theory upload to another service one day if it became available.
There’s a wide range of other activities available for Lifelog on IFTTT, from simple notifications to sharing your steps on social media.
If you’re a Sony Lifelog and IFTTT user, this is match made in heaven. If you haven’t checked out IFTTT, then grab their app from Google Play and start cooking up your own recipes now.
