While functionality has been stripped from Drive and parted out to the individual apps like Slides, Docs and Sheets, Google has been updating their apps with additional functionality, today adding the ability to add images on the go, as well as adding more offline functions.
Google has added the ability to insert a picture from your camera roll, or even take a new photo and insert it into a Google Doc or Google Slides presentation from your phone or tablet. The Slides implementation will also let you now double tap on an image and crop it to the exact size you want – all from your tablet or phone.
Google has also improved offline support to take advantage of these new features. When you update to the latest versions of Docs and Slides you can keep inserting pictures into your documents and presentations even without a data connection.
Docs and Slides updates will be hitting Google Play shortly so make sure you update when you get the notification to take advantage of the new features.
