If you’re not quite happy with the functionality of Google Now, you’ll soon have another option – Microsoft’s Cortana. Microsoft has today announced that their virtual assistant will be moving to iOS and Android shortly.
In their blog post, Microsoft has announced that they want to bring some of the new Windows 10 experience to users who prefer to use Android and iOS. The implementation between desktop and mobile won’t be as seamless as using a Windows 10 phone, with Microsoft advising that Android and iOS users will ‘need to follow a few easy steps to get the right apps on your phone to make it work great in conjunction with your Windows 10 PC’.
As the app won’t be part of the core OS experience, Cortana won’t offer as many options as it will on phones running Windows 10, with Microsoft advising:

Cortana for Android will arrive in June – iOS users will have to wait till later in the year. Keep your eyes out for more information closer to launch.
I’m using Cortana on my Lumia 640 (taking a break from the Note 4) and it’s actually really good. very intuitive and great voice recognition. Sending a text message is very fluid. if it uses Bing like Vijay asked, i don’t think i’d use it over Google – Bing is horrible on mobile devices – very unintuitive.
so will it search using bing?
Probably, Bing is deeply integrated into Cortana, same way into Google search and other Google services are deeply integrated into Google Now
