The Google app is an amazing understated app, which handles more and more of the ‘magic’ functions of Android such as sending a text message with your voice, every day. Google has just announced that the Google app can now send text messages using voice commands to a variety of new clients, including Viber and WhatsApp.
The new addition will be expanded to more apps, but begins with Viber, WhatsApp, WeChat, Telegram and NextPlus as well. This works in English only at the moment, even outside the US, though you will need the latest version of both the messaging and the Google app.
Google will be working on adding more apps and languages to use the voice commands in the future, so keep an eye out for more additions.
Which Messaging app should be included next?
Can you imagine Apple integrating third party apps into something so core to their OS? This is why Google wins 🙂
