Minecraft is that game that’s just continued to gain popularity and in their next phase the game, which has been mainly a free form display of individualism, will be taking on a story mode component. The game was teased back in July, but Telltale games has today given further information on availability, announcing it will be available on October 15th in Google Play.
TellTale games, the geniuses behind such episodic games already on Android such as The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones has a great story telling ability and it looks to continue with Minecraft: Story Mode. The game looks fairly interesting with a lead character that can be male or female and is simply known as ‘Jesse’, with the ability to choose between three different looks for each gender. Telltale games describes Minecraft: Story Mode, saying:
In Minecraft: Story Mode, playing as either a male or female hero named ‘Jesse,’ you’ll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse’s friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.
The game has been developed closely with the team at Mojang, the company who developed the original game, so expect the concept to be similar but as for open-world exploration and mining it appears to be more a linear story game, but we’ll have to wait and see when the game launches mid-next month.
Are you excited for Minecraft: Story Mode or will you just keep on going with Minecraft Pocket Edition?
