If you’re a keen Google Docs users and by docs we mean their suite of document editing apps such as Slides, Sheets etc, then the latest update will be welcome news. Google has added a few new features to Slides and Sheets bringing better presentation controls and chart management to the apps.
The Google Slides app has received an update which complements earlier updates which brought Chromecast support for presentations. The update allows easier access to your presentation in Hangouts or when you’re Chromecasting when you lock your screen. The new update leaves a persistent notification on your screen letting you move forward (or back) or even exit entirely from the presentation from the lockscreen.
Also added is an option to view your audience when presenting in Hangouts by clicking on the video camera icon at the top of your screen, this will also allow you to pin specific participants in the hangout.
Sheets has received an update for those of you who love their charts. Google has added the ability to insert charts and change the type in the Android app, finally matching the function from the web app.
The updates are rolling out now and you should be presented with the option to update from Google Play, if you haven’t tried out Slides or Sheets you can grab them from Google Play.
