Twitter GIF
Twitter has really embraced the GIF since adding the option to share them almost 2 years ago, today Twitter is making it easier to share GIFs by adding a button to search for GIFs directly into their mobile apps and website.

Powered by GIPHY, as well as GIF Keyboard creator Rifsy, the new option lets you tap the GIF button when composing a tweet or a Direct Message, letting you share that amusing cat GIF with all your followers. Partnering with GIPHY and Rifsy adds a library of thousands of GIFs to your reply arsenal, with more added all the time.

Alex Chung, founder and CEO of GIPHY said of the new function:

GIPHY delivers real-time GIFs as they happen, helping to power Twitter’s live commentary and conversation. GIPHY’s users are creating GIFs for news, entertainment, sports, and expression that can enrich Tweets. We’re excited to work with Twitter to make sharing these GIFs even easier.

David McIntosh, CEO and co-founder of Riffsy said

So much can be expressed with GIFs, and the key is to find just the right one in the moment that quickly and efficiently expresses your emotions. We’re excited to explore this partnership with Twitter and watch Twitter users discover and share their favorite GIFs in their daily lives.

The GIF button is coming to both the iOS and Android mobile apps, with the update rolling out over the coming weeks. You’ll also start seeing the GIF button on the twitter.com website as well.
