Google and Evernote operate competing note taking services in Keep and Evernote, but that doesn’t mean they can’t work together for the sake of their users. Today they’ve announced a collaboration which will let you view content from Google Drive in Evernote.
The update is apparently in Beta for the Web and Android, but will let you drop documents from Drive into Evernote, with updates you make in Drive reflected in Evernote. The integration includes ‘thumbnail previews and a rich viewing experience’, meaning instead of a link to a Drive document in Evernote, you’ll actually see a small preview.
Alex Vogenthaler, Group Product Manager for Google Drive said
Making Drive content available in Evernote was very natural for us. Evernote is a great productivity tool and we want anyone using Drive to have access to their content whenever and wherever they’re trying to get stuff done. That’s the cloud at its best.
As a beta, the integration is available for the Web in Chrome and on Android, but will be coming to ‘other platforms’ soon.
