Travel tracking company TripIt has today unveiled a new update to their mobile app that adds a new timeline view and navigation bar to show you more clearly where you’re up to on your trip, as well as the ability to modify that trip with ease.
The redesign is hitting iOS and Android, with iOS users getting a taste of the much loved Floating Action Button (FAB). The update also adds a navigation bar to the view to quickly jump between information that’s required. A new trip view lets you see a more succinct travel summary, with important details such as flight or confirmation numbers, including a new layover summary that tells you how long you have till your flight takes off.
TripIt Pro users get an additional colour coded flight information card that tells travellers if their flight is delayed, on-time or even cancelled. That additional card alone may not make the US$49 annual fee for TripIt Pro worthwhile, but it adds to a long list that most travellers do find are worth that charge.
That FAB gets different functions on iOS and Android, both apps allow you to add a trip, or new plan, but the iOS version allows you to edit plans it as well. Maybe we’ll see this on Android in a new version.
