It’s now 20 years since J.K. Rowling had her book Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone published on June 26th 1997, and to get into the spirit of things Google Earth will take you places both from, and surrounding the story of Harry Potter.
Google is using their story platform, Voyager to take you across the world to places from the books and movies, such as Platform 9 ¾ at London’s King’s Cross train station, Leadenhall Markets where Diagon Alley was filmed, the Millenium Bridge which is destroyed by Death Eaters and the Edinburugh cafe where Ms Rowling wrote the books. You can even check out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando. Even new sites from the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them book and movie, such as the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA) are available to visit.
If you’re feeling less than magical today, mount your broom and head over to Google Earth and start checking it all out.
