Telegram keeps updating with some pretty neat features, today it’s live location sharing, a new media player and better translation support in chat.
The Live Location sharing is a handy feature for work purposes, allowing you to share your location for 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 8 hours – basically letting whoever is in the chat see where you are on Google Maps. If all members of a group chat share their locations you’ll get an interactive map of everyone’s current coordinates.
Another improvement is the media player, which has been re-designed to ‘support the playback of MP3s and other music files you send and receive’. Start playing media in the new player and you’ll be able to view cover art and the rest of the playlist by tapping on the title of the track playing in the top bar. You can try this out in a new demo channel with some free music now.
Language support is improved in Telegram 4.4, with Telegram now supporting 13 languages. Telegram will now let users suggest localised words for their apps, with Telegram able to update these words faster without system updates.
If you’re a Telegram user, then make sure you have the latest update and check it all out.
