Google has a reputation as being accepting of and encouraging accessibility improvements in their products, to that end they’ve announced some new support being added to Google Sheets, Slides, and Drawings.
While GSuite users can already use Braille displays to read and edit text in Docs, Slides and Drawings Google is now adding support for Braille displays in Sheets. Additionally, they’re adding support for Screen Magnifiers in Google Slides and Drawings.
The Braille display support in Sheets is only available for Chrome OS users using the ChromeVox screen reader, but Google intends to include support for more readers on more platforms soon. The Screen Magnifier support is not quite as limited, though it will only work for Mac and Chrome OS users.
The availability is currently rolling out over the next two weeks, so if you require accessibility support you should be getting some soon.
