Kayo recently turned one and in its first year a lot of streaming has been done. For a lot of users, it makes sense to ditch Foxtel. After all, Kayo only costs $25 a month and if your primary want is sports, then you’re well and truly covered.
Telstra and Kayo have even better news if you’re on the fence, a $10 discount for the first 12 months if you’re a new or returning customer to Kayo.
Telstra customers will have access to an exclusive offer for Kayo from today, allowing new and returning users to the sports streaming service access for $10 less per month for 12 months on the Kayo Basic (now $15/mth) and Premium (now $25/mth) plans.
From personal experience, the variety of sport – domestic and international – available is huge and the convenience of watching on-demand is a blessing. A quick pro-tip for new users to Kayo: If you’re watching sports on-demand vs live streams, turn on the no spoilers option to avoid the fury of knowing the result.
This deal adds to the already very generous offering of the Telstra Live Pass giving customers access to stream AFL, AFLW, Football, Netball and NRL. The offer needs to be claimed through Telstra+ as a loyalty offer, can’t be combined with other offers and is available until June 30th.
Is a monthly $10 discount enough to get you over the line to subscribe to Kayo?
Pretty sure this offer has been changed now to one month or three months free. I tried to do this earlier on. Now it says: “New Kayo customers: Silver tier customers receive 1 month credit for Kayo Basic. Gold tier customers receive 3 months credit for Kayo Basic. Credit must be activated by 30 June 2020, unless otherwise extended. One offer redemption per Telstra Plus membership unless moving from Silver to Gold tier in a 12 month period. To sign up you need valid credit card details or you can add a Kayo subscription to your Telstra account. Kayo is… Read more »
On the Ozbargain website they have a link to a 3 months free Kayo deal. It has over 600 up votes so I presume it’s a good deal, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/516785
Be careful with compatibility. I have tablet (Sony Z4) and it USED to work (through Chromecast). Now it tells me I’m not connected to WiFi and will only play if I chose CELLULAR. No response from their support. Also, HD was only 720P and even recorded shows (NOT live) have adds in. For 25 per month, any show not live shouldn’t have adds.
I already get the A-league through Telstra so the only thing I really want it for is F1.
Isn’t A-league via Telstra only on your phone? And I found that Chromecasting your phone screen doesn’t even work any more. At least with Kayo I can watch on the TV in HD.
Limited to a 7″ screen I think you’ll find
I closed my Kayo account last night so I can sign up again next month and save $10. I only watch the A-league and NFL so was considering giving it up altogether, but at this price I’ll hang in there.
