D-Link has come to the Wi-Fi party with another mesh Wi-Fi system and, as usual, it’s a step up in specs. Available as a router only, 2 pack or 3 pack (and later range extender) the Eagle Pro AI series has a lot on offer for connected homes and small businesses.
Not only is the system able to be installed as a holistic, once-off approach: it has been well designed to ensure scalability for growing connectivity and footprint needs. While the specs tell you the coverage range of the devices, the D-Link site has a useful “one-touch” system selection to help you understand what’s best suited to your home.
Each of the options brings with it differing coverage ranges at speeds up to 1200Mbps (5GHz) and 300Mbps (2.4GHz):
- Eagle Pro AX1500 Smart Router: $199.95 covers 230 square meters
- Eagle Pro AX1500 M-15 2 Pack: $279.95 covers 370 square meters
- Eagle Pro AX1500 M-15 3 Pack: $379.95 covers 500 square meters
- Eagle Pro AX1500 E15 Range Extender: $179.95 covers 230 square meters
The whole device series is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) which — as we’ve previously discussed — is a significant step up from Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). Combined with WPA, WPA2 or WPA3 capability for security and the AI traffic optimiser and Mesh (think of it as automated QoS) your online experience is set for a positive boost.

The EAGLE PRO AI Series is particularly significant as it is the first series to offer a complete range of products that not only integrate the latest in Wi-Fi 6 technology with artificial intelligence to offer incredible Wi-Fi coverage and speed, but have been specifically designed to do so together, from the ground up. This means users get the most seamless, powerful, efficient and easy to use Wi-Fi experience possible.
As many third party routers in the current era have, the D-Link offering has parental controls. Offering the administrators of the network (ie. Parents) the option to restrict usage times, impose data limits and prevent access to certain sites.
Setup and management of any of the new Eagle Pro devices are simple through the D-Link Eagle Pro app. Within the app, you have set up and maintained your network and the capacity to add more devices to your system.
The convenience of network control is as easy as
Perhaps the easiest to overlook device feature of the release is the E15 Eagle Pro AI AX1500 Mesh Range Extender. Where — in times gone by — range extenders behaved as a device on your network relaying signal, this is capable of becoming part of the mesh setup within the Eagle Pro system. This doesn’t add latency to data, works with the Wi-Fi 6 capacity and network AI to fully optimise performance and the user experience.
The range is available now via D-Link online, or through the usual retail channels
