I’m personally a massive fan of Minecraft and I know there are many of you out there who are big fans as well, if not a little addicted. If you are one of those people, you can kiss all your spare time goodbye once Minecraft makes its way to Android later this year, which is quite a fine effort seeing as though the desktop version is yet to leave beta. Mojang’s head of business development Danial Kaplan told Kotaku that they were thinking of getting a 3rd party to develop the mobile version of the game but instead decided to develop it in-house, which I’m sure will lead to much better results in the long run. Bring on the end of the year 😉

Somebody’s actually made a serious attempt at porting MC to android (well actually just a level renderer/explorer with ability to destroy/build blocks) and IMO he has done a really good job at it. Link: http://code.google.com/p/minedroid

Oh man can’t wait! I have seen my future, and it involves me planning my next phone/tablet upgrade around which device plays minecraft the best 😛

I’d rather notch push out actual updates for the game faster and get it complete quicker than focus on other platforms.

Dammit, now I’m not even going to be able to have a life on the train 🙁
If by life, you mean “sitting with your headphones on looking to a faraway place” that is.

You reckon the X5 should do the job?

Well it’s not sure what specs will be needed to run the game. I’m thinking high-end, and the X5 does have a high-end GPU in the Adreno 205
