Optus have come out today with a lovely little offer. If your a customer who is taking an Optus plan for the first time and connecting to a $49 Cap and above with selected Android handsets, you will receive 2 months free. It’s a nice little deal. The handsets include, the Motorola Defy, Milestone, Milestone 2, DEXT, Backflip, Quench, Dell Streak, LG Optmius One, Garmin A50, HTC Aria, Samsung Galaxy 580, Galaxy S, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, X10 and X10 mini. So if you sign up to a 24 month plan with one of these babies, 2 months free it is.

    Optus has been doing this for the last 18 months. Not sure why this is suddenly news. Virgin by the way used to trump this with 3 free months. Now they’ve changed that to $125 credit – but that still trumps Optus for the $49 plan.

    What is most interesting about the list is that it includes the bland new to Optus, Xperia Arc. It really sounds as if Optus can’t shift Sony’s at all.

    All of the above mentioned handsets aren’t worth it (in my humble opinion that is). It would have been different if they were offering the Nexus S, DesireZ, Desire HD, LG 2x etc….
    you know, all the great phones that vodafone has…
