Phil outlined the rumoured specs for the Toshiba A200 Excite yesterday but Toshiba has come out and released the tablet specs at IFA today. It will be released in Europe in Q4 this year.
Specs:
- 10.1-inch 1280×800 LCD display
- 1.2GHz Dual-Core OMAP 4430 processor
- 1GB DDR2 RAM
- Built-in storage up to 64GB
- microSD, microUSB & microHDMI
- 5MP and 2MP cameras
- 7.7mm thick & weighing just 558g
- Up to 8 hour battery life
- Android 3.2 Honeycomb
Light, and thin this tablet is what the Thrive should have been right out of the blocks. No word on pricing or Australian availability as yet, but we`ll keep you posted. Video hands-on by This is my next after the break.

So after making by far the thickest, chunkiest Android tablet, suddenly they spin around and show off the thinnest?
Why did they not release this in the first place….?!
Now that is a good looking device. It also has all the required ports which might make this the first Android tablet I seriously consider purchasing. Hopefully Ice Cream Sandwich will deliver a vastly improved Android tablet experience, and hopefully Toshiba can demonstrate a commitment to timely updates. That’s really the only two variables holding me back right now.
My new must have toy….the money is set aside and all I need is one of these bloody manufacturers to launch the product here!
