Since the iPhone 4S has just been announced by Apple, we thought we’d put it head to head against some of the leading Android devices currently available and the rumoured specs of the Nexus Prime. All of them are dual-core, all of them are sparkly, but some are apparently more revolutionary than others. Find our comparison of these beasts after the jump. And yes, I’m well aware I used the iPhone 4 image above, but I mean really, deal with it — they’re exactly the same.

I think when it was first announced though many sources had it as 1Gb.
Having just bricked my iphone 3gs trying to upgrade to ios5 and spent a frustrating two days trying to recover it without success, I’ve decided life is to short for Apple so have ordered a Sensation
Well, I finally got the Sensation and after a bit of a learning curve – setting it up and getting to know the OS (also increasing font size and improving loudness) I can say that I am more than delighted with the move, love the bigger screen, the speed, build quality of the phone and being liberated from itunes
I was hoping not to see much about iPhone on an Android based news site, but I guess since this phone is seemingly Android’s biggest competition I can deal with it. Also the whole thing was a let down and it’s pretty funny to be honest.
I would only ever post about it if it was in direct comparison to an Android device. I don’t want to give it any time in the spotlight.
It’s nice to see it was compared with the Atrix, it just goes to show that what Android had a year ago Apple has launched just today. Also don’t get me started on the software changes that iOS5 has pretty much stolen from Android.
Also 8MP main camera with 0.3MP front facing camera? hahaha they couldn’t even do better than HTC.

If Samsung and Google smash the Unpacked event (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM9RO-GAKjE&feature=player_embedded) next week, we might be seeing a lot of people looking at Android.
Is it confirmed a PowerVR SGX543MP2 in the iPhone4S, because that will actually almost certainly make it faster than any other dual core chip out there… maybe Exynos can give it a run though…
It’s by far the fastest GPU there. Dual-Core and 7x the performance. The Nexus Prime needs to pull something amazing out of its hat.
Yeah.. and the latest rumors are the Prime will ship with the 4430 due to shortages.. which is even worse actually.. but I haven’t seen it confirmed anywhere the 543MP2 in the 4s yet.. all i’ve read is A5…

I very much doubt that the iPhone 4S has a PowerVR 543 in it.
The 543 is simply huge, they wouldn’t be able to fit it inside that chassis. Remember this is still built on a 45nm fab process, so there is no way they can shrink it.
Apple can call it A5 all they want, but I’m pretty sure the iPhone 4S has a PowerVR 540.

The exynos which is destroying everything currently in benchmarks: It would appear that a four-core Mali-400 has the shader compute power of a PowerVR SGX 543. In other words, half the compute horsepower of the iPad 2’s GPU

I read over at GSMArena that the iPhone 4S also has been updated to 1GB RAM, which puts it right up there.
That 3.5″ screen size is pretty small though..

Your atrix 3g freqs specs are incorrect…..not ALL atrix phones have quad band 3g, only a few of them. ie the one telstra sells is only tri band. for example

The stock rom for the atrix is 720 for video but it is 1080 capable. Lots of custom roms let you record in 1080.
