The world is ending, ladies and gentlemen, Adobe has officially (and finally) decided to pull the plug on Flash and will now spend their days making HTML5 far more awesome than it already is. This means that the last version of Flash Player for Android will be version 11.1, however, Adobe will continue to push out updates for bugfixes and security flaws.
We will no longer continue to develop Flash Player in the browser to work with new mobile device configurations (chipset, browser, OS version, etc.) following the upcoming release of Flash Player 11.1 for Android and BlackBerry PlayBook. We will of course continue to provide critical bug fixes and security updates for existing device configurations.
Flash for PC will still stick around for the time being since it is used widely by many game developers. As for HTML5, I think we’re going to see Adobe do some really great stuff with it, especially since they can finally enter the realm of iOS.
Steve Jobs (RIP) has been vindicated … again. Jeez his vision will be sorely missed.
That was one of the major reasons I was using android – apple does not have flash.

the main reason i got an android tablet is flash. i dont want to look at a mobile site on a 10inch screen and i want the whole web and videos.
i watch a lot of catch up TV on my Gtablet
I love how all the apple fan boys say “jobs was right” when infact he was wrong and it wasn’t him it was Apple. Apple was right in that yes Flash isn’t good for a mobile platform, it’s slow it’s resource intensive but the web us built on it and will be for a while to come so support is needed. What was the right thing for Apple to do was to say, we don’t support or reccomend Flash but if you want to install a Flash plugin on iOS go right ahead. I can hear Apple cackling… Wasnt there all that talk of how flash was goibg to chanfe gamibg for mobiles with pc like graphics… Disappointed
