Vodafone have just tweeted to let everyone know that the Android 2.3.6 update for the original Samsung Galaxy Tab (7-inch) has passed carrier testing and will be pushed out to users ‘soon’. This update might be last major update the Galaxy Tab receives, unless Samsung find they can fit Ice Cream Sandwich on it — something I doubt they’ll do. It’s more likely they’ll do what they’re doing with the Galaxy S and pull Android 4.0 features out of Ice Cream Sandwich and mash them in with 2.3.6.
The Android 2.3.6 update for the GALAXY Tab 7 has been granted technical acceptance. Roll-out will begin soon. bit.ly/Ac2Qig

Have been using 2.3.7 for a while now, better battery, faster performance than any carrier based ROM on it. We don’t really need ICS as 2.3.7. is pretty good.
Where did you get the 2.3.7 from? Samfirmware? Is it a Samsung release? And what region – Europe?
Cheers
It’s about time.
At least the ongoing delays mean we get the latest version of Gingerbread.
