Just when we thought LG had finally left the Android race, here comes the LG X3 render to bring them back into the game. The X3 is supposedly going to be a Quad-Core device with a 4.7-inch display with the now obligatory 1280×720 resolution (312ppi). NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 Quad-Core chip will be the powerhouse inside the device, which is apparently going to be less than 9mm in thickness even with a 2000mAh battery packed away inside it.

Pocket Now are reporting an 8MP camera on the back (shooting HD of couse) and a 1.3MP camera on the front. It’s also good to hear that Ice Cream Sandwich is to be the Android version of choice. In terms of wireless functionality there’s 21Mbit HPSPA+, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

After last years dismal performance of the LG Optimus 2X, we’re a little sceptical of the X3 — at least until we see if in action where it can prove it’s actually usable. Pocket Now believe this device could be unveiled at MWC and launched in early winter (our time).

If they just released it with vanilla Android and an unlocked bootloader, they’d print money.

well now if they can only match those beautiful looks with good software, they may just have a winner.

I hope that this LG phone does well. Their hardware is fantastic but it’s the overbearing software they put on the phone that drags it down. Hopefully this version will have an OS which will really let their hardware shine.
