Android’s lead designer, Matias Duarte, has commented on a Google+ post which celebrated his recognition as being one of the 50 designers shaping the future. He stated (as shown above) that he feels as though he’s only a third of the way to where he’d like Android’s polish, consistency and responsiveness to be.
That comment is music to our ears, as the efforts of Project Butter in Jelly Bean were exceptional steps towards better responsiveness and polish on Android. Perhaps those consistency issues will be a more cohesive looking Android in the next release dubbed to be Key-lime Pie. I guess we’ll wait and see.
