Another post with details on the LG E960 which by now has generally been accepted by the Android blogosphere as the LG Nexus rumoured to be launched at the end of this month. This time it’s via a thread over on XDA in which user 4shael has posted the above photos and also given some details on the specifications which mirror those given a couple of days ago by Paul Obrien from Modaco. The specs listed on the thread :

  • CPU: core quad ARMv7 1.5GHz
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • Memory: 8GB (and I haven’t found SD slot)
  • GPU: Adreno 320
  • Android version: JellyBeanMR1
  • Kernel 3.4.0
  • Screen: 768×1184 (320 dpi)
  • Camera: 8 MPx

4shael advises that the phone has only DC-HSPA but no LTE, but that could just be a testing model and that the phone is width wise about the same as the Galaxy Nexus. 4shael has signed off for now but has promised a video sample coming soon and did ask for any questions about the device so head over and post your questions on the thread.

Well it’s been pretty quiet from the other supposed members of the Nexus program, Samsung, Sony and HTC but there is still time left perhaps we’ll start seeing more soon. What’s the general feeling out there, is the E960 the LG Nexus?

8GB, no microSD?

If this is the only Nexus under the works, I’ll have to reconsider my options…

I just want an SD slot and a removable battery. I don’t care if its not the fastest octocore CPU( I prefer battery life). Good screen, good Camera, good audio, not fragile and runs vanilla!

Matt

Once again -Notice it says “With Google” on the back. This might be a return to the Google Certified devices ala the HTC Magic and HTC Dream. Although not Nexus devices they ran vanilla android for a “Google Experience”

And the Motorola Xoom

But then again my galaxy S also said with Google.

so… apparently the future is LG and EIGHT GB?
