We awake this morning to news that the Nexus 10 tablet is back on sale in the Australian Play Store.

The Nexus 10 has seen mixed availability since launch in November 2012, and while it has not proved as popular as the Nexus 4 or Nexus 7, the Nexus 10 is not without its own charm and there’s certainly a lot to be said about it contrasted with some of the other 10″ Android tablets on the market.

You can see what Ausdroid thought of the Nexus 10 in our review, but here’s the summary for you:

And the Nexus 10 is a magnificent tablet. I’ve used a variety of 10″ Android tablets from a variety of manufacturers since they started releasing Honeycomb based systems last year. So far they have all delivered a mediocre experience on hardware that ranged from bad to decent. The Nexus 10 fixes this. The Nexus 10 is without doubt the best 10″ tablet on the market at the moment and if you’re looking for something this size, this is the one you should buy. — Daniel Tyson

Surely it’s difficult to judge relative popularity when it’s been sold out all the time? I know people have been blaming LG for Nexus 4 shortages but I think these Nexus stock shortages must be Google’s fault for under-ordering. Samsung have no problems keeping their own devices in stock.

We still need a version of this with cellular data (preferably 4G).

I personally no point in the 4G capability of the tablet. Yes, its probably essential for some people, and it may also appeal to a crowd with the possibility of coverage whenever they need it, but for others its not essential. I have the Nexus 10, and I have connectivity on the go everywhere. How? Wifi tethering to your phone. Provided you have a reasonable data plan with your mobile, why hassle yourself with another bill when you can just connect to your phone. Much easier.

Too late. Samsung, I took your not releasing stock for 3.5 months as a sign that you wanted my money to go to Asus, so I bought a Nexus 7. Thanks for helping me make my decision.
