With the launch of the HTC M7, which is now known as the HTC One there has been no official word on the lower end of the market from HTC as yet. Before the launch of the HTC One, there was a rumour of a lower end version of the HTC One, code-named the ‘M4’ and now that the HTC One is out there, the rumours surrounding the launch of the device have re-surfaced via Llabtoofer who have provided some potential specs.
HTC ‘M4’ Specs :
- 4.3″HD 720×1280 resolution screen
- 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8930)
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB Storage
- UltraPixel Rear Camera with 1.6MP Front facing camera
- Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz and 5.xGHz Dual-Band), GPS/Glonass
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5.0
With the issues that HTC have already confirmed with getting the Ultra-Pixel camera modules for their flagship device the One, adding this same sensor into the lower-end version would only further add to the delays in getting stock of both models out into the hands of consumers.
We’re also still seeing mixed reports of the Ultra-Pixel camera on the HTC One, so we’ll have to wait and see what the acceptance is like with the wider community once it goes on-sale here in Australia on the 23rd of April. Once the user feedback is received we’ll get a better idea of what the reception for the Ultra-Pixel camera on lower end phones will be like.
Would you like an Ultra-Pixel camera on a lower end phone?
Sounds like a HTC Two or HTC Second
Where did you see the HTC one display units??
Sounds like a perfectly capable phone and really, only a touch behind flagship specs. Could potentially be very popular on sub-$59 plans if there were $0 handset repayments.
$59? Still a bit pricey for mid-high range. I’d put it around the $45-49 mark for a great deal.
