Adding to the news that James brought us earlier that Galaxy S4 shipments are going to be delayed in the US due to overwhelming demand, it looks like the Knox software that was to be launched with Samsung’s new flagship device looks like it is going to be delayed as well.
For those of you that don’t know what Knox is, it gives you the ability to have both personal and business content on the same handset while keeping them separate from each other so you don’t need to worry about something on you personal space messing up or accessing your business data.
I am no expert when it comes to security but this could be a big step forward in getting Android devices into the hands businesses that currently rely on Blackberry devices.
While the software will not be available when the Galaxy S4 starts shipping, Samsung are working on getting this out to that device as well as other handsets in the Galaxy lineup.
“it looks like the Knox software that was to be launched with Samsung’s new flagship device looks like it is going to be delayed as well”
There’s some superfluously redundant words in that statement. 😉
Seriously, though, I hope Knox isn’t far away. It’s one of the things that will make mainstream adoption of Android in corporates a lot easier.
It’s not far if you live in Melbourne 🙂
