The 11th annual Microsoft IT Journalism Awards were held at Sydney’s Luna Park last night and three of us — Daniel, Jason and myself — were fortunate to attend on behalf of the rest of the team.
We were nominated in the category best independent media, and to our surprise, we were finalists in this category as well! It was at this point we thought we’d better attend, and it was a great night. Quite apart from the food and drink, there was the opportunity to catch up with a number of our colleagues in the industry, and have a bit of a drink and relax amongst ourselves too.
Before we knew it, it was time to announce the winner of our category. We were up against some pretty good competition — Geoff Quattromani from NotAnalog.com, and Terrence Huynh from TECHGEEK.com.au are two notable examples. Ausdroid didn’t win, sadly, but we did come in highly commended which, for us, is a great achievement and we’re very happy with it.
I have already congratulated our team, but more importantly, I’d like to thank you — our audience — for your continued readership here at Ausdroid. We strive to provide a great news service for you, to review all the best hardware and software so you can make informed choices, and more importantly, just to have fun. We enjoy doing Ausdroid, otherwise we wouldn’t bother, and the fact that you keep coming back to read it makes us all warm and fuzzy inside.
Congrats. Well deserved 🙂
