After months of speculation, Motorola have finally confirmed that they are working on a new flagship phone, and it is indeed called the Moto X. Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside made the announcement at the All Things Digital conference held in California this week, confirming that the phone is being developed and will be available in the US by October. Woodside said that every phone would be assembled in Texas, in a facility that was formerly used to manufacture Nokia phones, and is the first smartphone to be exclusively built in the US.
While he was reluctant to give away too many specific details about the phone, Mr Woodside spoke about the various sensors the Moto X would include, claiming that “we know when it’s in your pocket, we know when it’s in your hand, it’s going to know when you want to take a picture and fire up the cameras.” Another example that was used was that it can tell when you’re in the car, and will be able to promote specific interactions.
While Motorola haven’t announced anything on this specifically, previous rumours have indicated that the Moto X will not be available in Australia. Time will tell whether these rumours are true or not, but it’s probably safe to assume the phone will be US-only to begin with. if it matches the hyperbole,runs stock and has international LTE then id be interested
