Samsung Galaxy Express
Optus has today announced that the Samsung Galaxy Express will be available in-stores, online and via telesales from Monday June 3rd. The Galaxy Express is LTE enabled and offers all the Touchwiz goodness you’ve come to expect from a Samsung handset.

Hardware wise the phone is aimed at the mid-range phone buyer, Galaxy Express Specs :

  • 1.2GHz Dual-Core processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 8 GB internal memory with microSD card slot
  • 5 megapixel rear camera, and 1.3 megapixel rear camera
  • LTE
  • Android 4.1.2
  • 2,000 mAh battery

The Samsung Galaxy Express is available either on a $35 per month Optus plan with a $7 per month handset repayment – Minimum Total Cost is $840 over 24 months – or on a $50 per month plan with no handset repayments – Minimum Total Cost is $1,200 over 24
months.

It doesn’t appear that Optus has the order page for the Galaxy Express live as yet, it should be live on the Optus Webpage on Monday when the phone is available to purchase.

Do you know anyone wanting a mid-range phone?

I think I’d rather wait for the HTC One M4. Need to upgrade my wife’s phone and after playing around with my HTC One M7, I think the M4 will do her just nicely. Question is, now that Samsung have confirmed their GS4 Mini, how long will HTC wait before announcing the M4. And this is HTC’s biggest problem. They simply are not proactive enough. By the time they announce the M4, most people waiting for a mid-range phone will have jumped onto the Mini. Poor strategy for mine and explains why HTC are struggling.

The good ol’ GSII isn’t so different.
