Google Earth has been around for about 8 years now, giving us access to satellite images of places most of us can only dream of visiting. Now Google Earth for Android has been updated to 7.1.1, this time bringing the Street View function to the popular application.
The latest update has added Street View – previously only available in Google Maps – which gives users the ability to zoom right in to street level. Other features added to the Android app include an improved interface, which lets users easily browse and enable different layers through use of a new left-hand menu panel. Some of these layers include business information and Wikipedia integration, just to name a few.
Given how feature-packed Google Maps is these days, Google Earth is not as popular as it once was. However, the last few updates have added a tonne of functionality. So if you haven’t checked out Google Earth for a while, now might be a good time to give it another look.
