Telstra seem to have reduced the price of their lower end 4G pre-paid mobile phone offering – the Telstra Frontier(ZTE T81) – dropping the price from $199 to $149.
Originally launched at $299 the phone hasn’t been flying high on anyones radar due to some lower end hardware but if you’re in the market for a super cheap 4G phone it could fit the bill. Just in case you have forgotten the specs of the Telstra ZTE Frontier 4G phone, here is the run down:
- 4″ 480×800 TFT capacitive touchscreen
- Dual-core 1.5 GHz CPU
- 2.5GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB with microSD/li>
- 5 MP rear camera, LED Flash, VGA front facing
- BT 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS
- Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
You can view the Telstra ZTE Frontier 4G phone at your local Dick Smith Store, the Dick Smith Website and your local Telstra store if they still have stock, the price drop does appear to be part of a clearance, so hurry to see if there are any left.
Update: Unique Mobiles have offered to match the pricing on the Frontier 4G for Ausdroid readers. The first 100 Ausdroid fans to use promo code “AUSDROID81” will receive the ZTE frontier T81 Unlocked for $149.00 at Unique Mobiles. Unique Mobiles advise that you should allow 3-10 days shipping and there is a limit of 1 per customer. Head over to the Unique Mobiles website to order your ZTE T81 Frontier 4G.
I found the deal before I found this post. I also pulled the trigger because I was looking for a cheap, smallish android phone with a reasonable processor. It actually has a 1.5 dual core and 4gb internal sd.
You might want to check the rest of the specs and update the post. Officeworks are now matching at $149, however it’s instore only.
Cheers, we’ve updated the CPU, the storage is correct though, it has 4GB but only 2.5GB accessible to the user. Where did you find the deal?
I think it was on ozbargain. I was also looking at the Huawei Y300 that DSE also have on special for $99
