Details on the as yet unannounced Nexus Smartwatch which is being built for Google by their current favourite Nexus hardware manufacturer LG, are starting to leak out with EvLeaks overnight advising some specifications that could arrive in the watch.

According to EvLeaks, the specs for the Smartwatch include a 1.65″ IPS LCD with a resolution of 280×280, a SoC for the watch has yet to be determined but it will come with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

Sundar Pichai announced an Android wearables SDK will be launching in the coming weeks at last weeks SXSW conference in Texas. A move seen as another step in Google’s journey to releasing a smartwatch. Google has previously used the Nexus brand to show the capabilities of the platform and the release of a Google Nexus Smartwatch to show how the SDK for wearables should be used is very likely.

The Nexus watch is expected to be announced at the June 25-26 Google IO event in San Francisco, so we still have a few months for more details to leak out.

I am wondering, like glass, if the google watch will work with ios and android.
I’m interested to see what if can do when it is not paired and if the watch with pair with other bluetooth 4 devices like the new asus chromebox.

Samsungs new wearables are all running Tizen OS. With Sony’s Smartwatch 2 not being too popular, Google really needs an Android-powered smartwatch (And a good one at that). Especially since there might be and iWatch soon… Come on Google!
