801
The OnePlus motto of ‘Never Settle’ is actually looking pretty rosy right now. The company initially announced a Snadpdragon 800 processor for their phone, they recently quietly changed the specs, upping that to a Snapdragon 801. But they never publicly said anything about the change….until now.

OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau has updated the OnePlus forums with a post on why they have decided to not settle on the Snapdragon 800 and instead opted for the more powerful higher clocked Snapdragon 801.

The Snapdragon 801(8974AC) in the OnePlus One will be clocked at 2.5GHz to appease almost all the power hungry users out there. The higher end CPU also means a higher clock speed on the GPU, which is still the Adreno 330 but will sit at 578MHz instead of 450MHz.

With the Snapdragon 801, there’s also the introduction of a new IO standard : eMMC 5.0. This allows for greater speeds transferring data around your phone, so overall it will be faster. Finally, 3GB of RAM, the OnePlus One will come with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM.

Essentially OnePlus are really making an effort here. These hardware specs are really starting to look amazing, especially when paired with a sub-€350 price. There’s still the details on where and when we can order this phone in Australia, but we’ll be tuning in on April 23rd to find out.
