May is just getting busier and busier for Android launches. We’ve just received an invite to the Australian launch of the latest handset from Huawei. This is of course most likely to be referencing the Huawei Ascend P7.
The event is scheduled for next Thursday morning, where we hope to learn all about the new phone. The phone will be launched in Paris a day earlier on May 7th, but we should get all the local launch details at the Australian launch.
Huawei has been teasing the launch of the P7 over the last few days on their Twitter account, teasing hints, pics and also a video :
We expect to see the Ascend P7 launch with a 1.8GHz Quad-Core Kirin 910T processor and 2GB of RAM with a 5″ 1920×1080 FHD display, there will be 16GB of on-board storage and a microSD card slot and all powered with a 2,500mAh battery. The camera specs are uncertain, early reports have listed the on-board cameras as : 13MP/8MP but as you can see from the picture above, the rear camera appears to be 8MP with BSI, so who knows, we’ll have to wait till next week to find out.
Pity it’ll basically never see the light of day in Australia.

Jeni it isn’t being negative Sean was expressing his frustration at the lack of probable release in this country. If he was being negative he would complain about the lack of HD screen, not having 3GB etc.
Exactly. I’d like to see more Huawei products in Australia. They’re underrated. I only ever see their low end products here.
I used to have the Huawei P6 at work however we only ever got one small shipment. And then from there they were increasingly hard to source through our other stores.
What did you think of it?
I have a P1 and best phone for the price by a long margin.
