A Motorola spokesperson has announced that the soon to be released Moto 360 will charge wirelessly via magnetic induction.
This information was provided to Techzine and was then translated by Techradar. The publication claims they spoke to Motorola programme manager Philp Worth, who confirmed suspicions that the watch would use a wireless method for charging its battery.
Wireless charging is currently used on several smartphones but Qualcomm is currently the only major manufacturer using wireless charging in their Toq smartwatch.
This may explain the lack of visible ports on the watch in Moto 360 promo videos and photos. It may also end the rumours that the Moto 360 might charge itself by using body movement.
The Moto 360 is rumoured to be arriving in Australia in July for around $365 Australian dollars.
