The release of Android L is imminent, which means Google is finalising updates to their apps and Android as a whole to prepare the way. The latest update to begin hitting devices is the updated Google Play for Android which has begun rolling out to devices now.

We saw a look at the newer Material Design look of Google Play last month, when Android Police managed to get their hands on it early. The update has a few new touches, including a new icon which flattens the familiar shopping bag icon. There’s more changes which are bubbling up as we look at it, but Android Police highlight that the ‘What’s New’ section is now highlighted in Green and no longer lumped in at the bottom of the App description.

Once installed, we do recommend just tapping on the burger menu and watch the animation as it spins to an arrow – it’s the little things that we appreciate. The update is rolling out now, but you can grab the new APK for Google Play below :
