With the announcement of Android 5.0 – Lollipop barely made, Motorola quickly announced which of their devices will receive this latest version of Android. The good news is, if you’ve purchased a Motorola device in the last year, you will be happy.
As expected, Motorola will of course update their latest handsets, the second generation Moto X (2014) and Moto G (2014). The original Moto X, Moto G (including the Moto G with 4G LTE) and the Moto E will also get the Android 5.0 update. A couple of US-only Motorola phones, the Motorola Droid Mini, Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx are also in line for the update.
When the update will arrive has not actually been announced, but given that Motorola actually delivered Android 4.4 to the Moto X on some US carriers before the Nexus 4 was updated, you can rest assured they will be fast.
I have a retail (bought at Officeworks) 2nd Gen Moto G, however I’m still waiting for the update. Anyone with a Moto G already receive the lollipop update?
if only Samsung would give up on touch wiz,(which they only did to piss apple off anyway) so updates like this would come before Samsung owners and up 2 os’s behind.
Any word on when the new moto x will be available in Aus?
Excellent news! Was tempted to grab a Moto E the other day, or try and find a Moto G 4G on the cheap
