According to rumour around the Android World, the Over The Air (OTA) update for Nexus devices will begin today. It’s not a definite, but at this stage with Google silent, as usual on the matter of OTA updates, we’ll take any spark of ‘official’ news we can get. Carriers are generally the gatekeeper for updates, even Nexus updates, and usually they know a bit about the updates, so when US carrier Sprint says the Nexus 5 Lollipop OTA update will begin today, we take notice.
This has popped up on their ‘community’ site, which says quite simply Lollipop build LRX21O for the Nexus 5 will begin today.
Of course, like all Nexus OTA updates, it will rollout in batches, which allows Google to halt the update if things go massively wrong. Of course we hope to see the OTA captured ASAP but you may have to wait a little while.
