Distribution - December 2014
Google seems back on track with releasing their distribution numbers now, it’s the 1st of the month in the US and boom, here they are.

The glaring omission from this list is the lack of stats on Lollipop. Despite hitting devices from the thirteenth of November there’s apparently not even enough devices running the latest version of Android to make a dent in the 7-Day period leading up to the 1st of December. Sad but true.

Moving on, KitKat is now on 1/3 of devices, while Jelly Bean has dropped below 50% market share. ICS continues its downward spiral, now on just 7.8% of devices while the once mighty Gingerbread continues its enxorable march into obsolesence dropping to just 9.1%. FroYo is still hanging in there, but will eventually become a statistical anomaly and be dropped, but until then, watch the 0.1% drop until it happens.

For your convenience, here’s the comparison from last time.

Android Version October November
Android 2.2 (Froyo) 0.6% 0.5%
Android 2.3.3 – 2.3.7 (Gingerbread) 9.8% 9.1%
Android 4.0.3 – 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) 8.5% 7.8%
Android 4.1.x (JellyBean) 22.8% 21.3%
Android 4.2.x (JellyBean) 20.8% 20.4%
Android 4.3 (JellyBean) 7.3% 7.0%
Android 4.4 (KitKat) 30.2% 33.9%

For all you people with Nexus 5 bought from play store with a Telstra sim. Drop a vodaphone Sim card in & lollipop will come your way straight away. Runs as smooth as silk. A little bit of a battery drain prob but not overwhelming.

Actually for my Nexus 4 with Telstra SIM nothing was happening, I decided it was time for a factory reset and clean the thing up so I took out the SIM and wiped the phone, the second it had wifi access again the update to lollipop was requested.
After the first boot the usual 50% of battery gone in a few hours occured then it settled down again. it is quite scary how fast the batter drains at first but does not take long to sort itself out.

Last weekend i lost touch functionality in my N5, thought it was a Kernel issue. brought it all back to stock to eliminate all software issues. Took it to a repairer yesterday and 45 mins later the screen and digitizer was changed as per my request. The N5 is running really smooth now after the hard reset, on Lollipop. Re-rooted, installed custom kernel and activated double tap to wake. I didn’t wait for Telstra to push the update. I flashed the update myself. I still don’t know what the difference would be as the firmware is the same version number… Read more ยป

You made a typo in your table, making me very confused for a minute there.
    4.1.x is 21.3 not 32.3 ๐Ÿ™‚
This makes it the first time in my memory anyway that every version of Android dropped except the latest one (well………. latest one in the table)
