SamMobile are reporting that the Galaxy S6 (Codename: Project Zero) will be at CES this week, but it won’t be on show for consumers. Instead Samsung is apparently showing the new phone off to a very select list of partners.
According to their source, the Galaxy S6 and variants are going to be showcased which will allow these partners to decide early; which variants they’re going to put on sale through their channel. The variants may include a Galaxy S6 Edge, or in fact may be the Galaxy S6 Edge. As there is no official release statement on these yet, only time (and the inevitable leaks) will tell us the truth.
Rumours have narrowed down the likely specs to
- QHD Super AMOLED display
- Android 5.0 Lollipop with Samsung UX enhancements
- Either an Exynos 7420 or a Snapdragon 810 processor (possibly one US/EU and one international)
- 3GB of RAM
- 32GB of internal storage
- Either a 16MP or 20MP camera
CES media day begins today, what news are you hoping for from your favorite manufacturer?
I’m hoping that Samsung and others start pumping out phones with much more internal storage. 32GB still is nowhere near enough. 64GB should be the minimum with 128GB and even 256GB options. The S5 in Australia with just 16GB is a joke, I am always running out of internal storage.
I think this is just to get people talking about the Galaxy S6, really the S5 has been out for nearly 9 months. has only had minor updates. Google either needs to lift is game or they will lose out. Companies Like LG, Samsung and other Android makers are going to lose out to Custom ROM as a way of upgrading . I have had 3 Galaxy S5 since April because of faults. this one that I have know has performed fault less . I also have a Note 4 which hasn’t missed a beat. I am going to wait… Read more »
The news I will be praying to hear from CES, is that Samsung and HTC are going to do a global release of GPE devices this year.
