Motorola - A Lenovo Company
A 4G version of the Motorola Moto G has been expected since they announced the Gen 2 with 3G radios only back in September, and the lower end Moto E has now been on the market for over 6 months now, so a refresh is almost certainly due. UK Retailer Argos has listed the Moto G Titan and Moto E Styx on their website, complete with pricing and bare bones specs.

The Moto G ‘Titan’ is a slightly modified version of the Moto G 2014, offering the same dimensions as the Moto G 4G that showed up on the Motorola Brazil website at the end of December. The Moto G Titan comes with a 5″ display with a listed 1280×768 resolution, but if this is the same phone as the one from Brazil, this is likely a mistake, with that phone listed with the same screen resolution as the Moto G 2014 (1280×720).

Internally, the phone will come with a Quad-core processor, 8GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot which will take up to 32GB. In terms of radios, there’s 2G, 3G and 4G listed, but no bands have been listed.

The Moto E ‘Styx’ has a 4.3″ display offering a qHD (960×540) resolution in a body slightly longer and wider, but no thicker than the original Moto E. The Moto E Styx will be powered by a Quad-Core processor and will have 8GB of internal storage with microSD Card slot up to 32GB. The phone will have a 5MP rear camera and like the original a front-facing camera hasn’t been listed.

The Moto G Titan has been priced at £159.95, while the lower end Moto E Styx has a £109.95 price tag. As yet Motorola has not announced the phones officially, or advised a release date – but from the looks of things, those details may not be far off.

I’m so torn, I would like a temporary nice but inexpensive 5″ phone and would LOVE it to be the moto G, but as I use tethering at work I’m not sure I could live without LTE anymore (how quickly we adapt).

Maybe I should get the 2013 Moto G with TE and accept a smaller screen? What are the internals like?

I have the moto g LTE 2013 and a galaxy s4. The only difference between the 2 is the screen size and much better battery life on the moto g.

Either the G Titan, or the 4G G from Brazil would be great to actually see officially on shelf here before the end of Q1 2015.
