Google has released the distribution numbers for the Android platform for the past 7 days leading up to April 6, 2015 and the news for Lollipop looks to be fairly good, with a steady increase in market share.
There’s been an increase in devices running Android 5.0 and upwards, with Google adding numbers for Android 5.1 to the table – the combined total of which adds up to 5.4%. Lollipop saw an increase thanks in part to devices such as the HTC One M9 and Galaxy S6/S6 Edge beginning to launch globally, but the devices running 5.1 are still but a miniscule blip at 0.4%.
The rest of the data shows that KitKat is still growing, while everything else has begun declining in market share – except Froyo, which may be around for ever at this stage.
For your convenience, here’s the comparison of the current stats to last months.
